Afterwards, like the other gods, Isis leaves the Earth. Isis is, as Thoth described her, deceitful and manipulative; she yearns for power and often becomes impatient with Sadie for not allowing her to take control of their shared body. Despite this, Isis also has a motherly side; although she mainly shows this to Horus and Anubis, she also allows Sadie to see the more caring aspect of her personality.

In The Red Pyramid , Isis was described to be a beautiful woman with Ruby Kane 's face, dark hair braided with diamonds, brown eyes, and multicolored wings that faded in and out behind her like the Northern Lights. She wore impeccable cloud-white robes.

You may find Alasdair Grant at: www. I wasn't a real fan of the beginning of the book because it just jumped right into Brooke's story and doesn't give much backstory.

I also don't understand what the significance of Brooke's mother being killed by a drunk driver is in this book. It is mentioned a few times throughout it but nothing ever comes from learning about it i. Brooke was an okay character but I didn't like how she was mainly in the beginning only interested in escaping and going bac I wasn't a real fan of the beginning of the book because it just jumped right into Brooke's story and doesn't give much backstory.

Brooke was an okay character but I didn't like how she was mainly in the beginning only interested in escaping and going back to her own world. I wasn't a fan of how she acted and I liked a lot of the other characters in the book more than her this is one of the reason's why I rated this book as 3 instead of 5 stars.

The Story of Isis and Osiris

I did however love how the setting took place in Egypt because I like reading about books that deal with that setting. The plot was interesting and I like how the Gods were intertwined in this story. Brooke being Isis is really cool because I have always liked Isis and found her to be a really cool God. So I just finished the ending of the book and if there is no second book to this I am not a happy person; the ending is so abrupt and doesn't even give us readers a good ending.

To me it made no sense spoiler alert, she ends up finding Wadjet of course she would or else the whole point of the journey she goes on would be pointless and Wadjet tells her to try and find Osiris with the Scepter and then she wakes up in the mortal world discovering that she was trapped in the tomb and her dad finds her and she is safe the end.

So if your into Egyptian Gods then this book would be for you as long as you like Isis and Osiris. Originally posted on my blog Book Reviews I've read The Book of the Dead and was very interested to see how this subject was handled. There was some very good writing and imagery in this.

The protagonist falling into the Egyptian underworld and being mistaken as Isis continued as a mystery about her identity, and this was compelling. That theme didn't weaken. The conflicts between the gods was a take-off from the ancient book but it is a part of Egyptian mythology. While some of the many characters didn't develop, Brooke's relationships I've read The Book of the Dead and was very interested to see how this subject was handled.

While some of the many characters didn't develop, Brooke's relationships with them were strong. Although long, the crossing of the Lake of Fire was visual and exciting. I felt that the ending was more a preparation for a sequel than a conclusion. The author certainly knows his Egyptology and fashioned his own ideas around sound though mysterious concepts. Got this as a free download. I liked the premis of this book; about a girl and her father on a dig in Egypt looking for a lost tomb.

Brooke, the main character, accidentally ends up in the ancient Egyptian Duat - home of the gods - where she is hailed as the returning Isis. I like ancient Egyptian history, myths and legends which is why I decided to read the book. I will try to read more selections from this author. I do think the author could use a bit more editing in the Kindle edition- there w Got this as a free download. I do think the author could use a bit more editing in the Kindle edition- there were several typos; it doesn't distract from the storyline, but it is a minor annoyance. It was a good book. I picked it up and couldn't put it down!

Cons: - The main character was a bit too selfish and self-depreciating but she was consistent, and she did show some signs of character growth.

Mysterious Musiris

Pros: - interesting plot - fast pace storyline - Original this book is not a knock off of some other novel I'm looking forward to reading The Dominion Scepter. This book moved along at a fairly steady pace, but it remained interesting the whole while. The characters were all well-constructed and while I don't know much about Ancient Egypt apart from the names if a few gods, the while thing felt authentic. I received it as a free download and now I am hooked. It will be wonderful.
